Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks are now called Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. Also known as a Criminal Records Check (CRC).
The roles in cricket that require ECB Vetting are:
- Welfare Officer (Club, League, County)
- Volunteer Co-ordinator
- Coach (volunteer or paid, assistant or lead)
- Umpire
- Scorer
- Colt/Junior Manager
- Age Group Manager
- Open-Age Team Captain
- Junior Supervisor
- First Aider / Physiotherapist / Medical Support
The roles in football that require FA Vetting are:
- Club Welfare Officers
- Team Managers
- Coaches
- First Aiders
- Referees
- Team Assistants
- Regular Club Drivers.

DBS Update Service:
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) update service lets applicants keep their DBS certificates up to date online and allows employers (schools, clubs etc) to check a certificate online.
Recommended – Sign up when you next renew : It is £ 13 a year – but free for volunteers.
