DBS Update Service:
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) update service lets applicants keep or more correctly renew automatically annually their DBS certificates. Also allows employers (schools, clubs etc)  to check a certificate online.

For Volunteers signed up the DBS Update Service they are renewed automatically each year.

So, for Volunteers it makes sense to register for the DBS Update Service or if logging in to choose your “golden” three documents for the ID Check with an authorised ID Verifier just agree to the DBS Update Service.

Once your DBS Enhanced Certificate is issued it will automatically be registered on the DBS Update Service. (You will receive logon info : Keep the ID)

Recommended – Sign up when you next renew : It is £ 13 a year – but free for volunteers.

The only time you will have to do the process again is if your circumstances change such as a Change of Address.
